good morning. i am mindy basara. >> i am stan stovall. >> of the talk today is about hurricane sandy. >> that is not something the media came up with. as far as i know because of the national weather service forecast office. he is the guy that point that. -- coined that. it is happening around halloween. and we are dealing with low clouds and fog. and there's a little drizzle and missed. you see the rain from hurricane sandy, a little weaker now. in the bahamas. and the city called front out to the west. snow and colorado. all of that convergence comes to the other by the end of the weekend and early next week. kind of the same time frame before all comes in.

we will talk about the forecast in a minute. first the traffic. >> traffic is looking very nice. no problem spots at this hour. it looks like everything should be moving fine. 64 on 95 heading down south toward the beltway. on the harrisburg expressway, 64 as well. on 795 in the area of owings mills, 64 as well. our live drive times show we are up to speed along the west side on the outer loop. it will take you 11 minutes. and four minutes on 95 north. no delays or problems by. a live look outside the beltway here on the west side. you can see the inner and outer lips are looking light. -- inner and outer loops are looking light. that is the latest on traffic

with how people are getting ready. you are at a grocery store. >> of course. where else would i be? of course you are here because of sandy. and i said, yes. already people have been coming in and stocking up. unlike the derecho storm we have this summer, we do have times to prepare. that is why stores are already seeing a bump in the sales, people coming in for batteries, food, water. and the essentials, milk, bread and toilet paper. the emergency management officials are getting ready as well. monitoring the forecast and telling residents cannot take advantage of this advanced warning. >> try to be prepared on their own. if we do have a major hit from the hurricane, you will be on your own for a while. so hot water, food, and to have a flashlight and radio is really best. stay connected with the world.

>> good morning. welcome back to 11 news today. i am stan stovall. >> i am mindy basara. what is the latest on hurricane sandy? >> still out there. when is 85 miles per hour. still on track to affect us in some manner, combining with another storm which is complicated. it all comes together as what you might call the perfect storm. take a look at this graphic. takes a look at the various models. they all make a turn right into the coast from the mid-atlantic area up into new england. the one called dfdl, close to the european model, it brings a great into delaware. >> o., no. >> there are still a couple days to fine tune all of this. it looks like we will get caught

by something. so now, the traffic. what do we have? >> much better news. no problem spot right now. great news if you are heading out on the roads. here is a look outside. it looks as if we are moving pretty well cleared 61 on 295 in the area of nursery road. for the north on the harrisburg expressway, 59 miles per hour. heading south toward the beltway on the jfx, 55. no problems or delays on those roadways at the this early hour. eight minutes on the inner loop. heading over to the 83, 63 on i- 95 southbound -- i mean six minutes on 95 southbound between the beltway 100 and howard county and eight minutes between the tunnel and 95 on the south side. here is a look at baltimore washington pike. the inner and outer loop is just fine.

in the flatlands to the east of the mountains. temperature-wise, you can see recalled a friend is coming in indiana and ohio. temperatures drop dramatically behind the front. it is the cold air behind the front that will be part of the energy come it charges the storm up when it comes in. here is what the forecast looks like for the hurricane. winds of about 80 miles per hour. in the vicinity of the bahamas, and moving to right near new jersey or the delaware beaches or the mouth of delaware bay on tuesday morning, really early, just after midnight. that is when the storm, the hurricane center is making landfall. still category one storm at that stage and then weekends as it moves inland. as close as that is to us, that is a big rainmaker. and with the eye of the storm so close, that is a windy storm as well. there are some adjustments and find turning to be made. that will not necessarily be the final word. we are talking late monday or
